Considering that the original "Matrix" was released in 1999 and its two sequels were released in 2003, the reboot titled "The Matrix Resurrections" certainly took its bullet time reaching us. HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano devote most of this podcast episode to a science fiction franchise that is firmly embedded in pop culture. Although Marie and Mike agree that the now-middle-aged Keanu Reeves as Thomas Anderson/Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity are convincing, they conclude that this reboot is mostly just reworking overly familiar alternative world material.
