It's truly impressive that 91-year-old Clint Eastwood is still directing and acting. Those who have tracked his long career are the most likely audience for his latest film, "Cry Macho," in which he plays a crusty horse trainer who agrees to help rescue his former boss's son in Mexico. As HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano observe in this podcast episode, it is a slow ride through the Southwest and contains its share of borderline-implausible situations, but it is enjoyable to savor this iconic actor as Eastwood adjusts his cowboy hat in the desert. In this episode, Marie and Mike also discuss "The Eyes of Tammy Faye," in which Jessica Chastain stars as the title character and Andrew Garfield stars as Tammy Faye's preacher husband, Jim Bakker. Although this film adheres to a predictable showbiz biopic formula and Mike in particular considered its sympathetic portrayal of Tammy Faye to be superficial, he agrees with Marie that it is an enjoyable film.
