Daniel Craig has played James Bond in five films over the last 15 years, and so it is notable that he is saying goodbye to the role in the much-anticipated "No Time to Die." HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano devote this podcast episode to praising how well this actor wore a tuxedo and eliminated bad guys during his long employment as 007. Although Marie liked "No Time to Die" more than Mike did, she agrees with him that the movie suffers from an overstuffed plot that results in an excessively long running time. Even though the movie is mildly disappointing in some ways, it is an event that James Bond fans will not want to miss. By contrast, the second movie discussed in this episode, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," is hardly a special event. This sequel to the 2018 movie "Venom" again stars Tom Hardy as a journalist who has superhero powers thanks to an alien residing within him. Marie says it is a "popcorn movie" that can be enjoyed for what it is. Although Mike makes the grouchy complaint that the movie is silly without being very funny, he agrees that it goes well with popcorn.
